| What is a domain name and why would I want
one? |
First off let me clarify what a domain name is, infowest.com
is a domain name.
1. We register all our domain names through the
InfoWest Domain Registration system.
InfoWest, Inc. has partnered with Tucows in conjunction with the OpenSRS Domain project. This partnership allows for more control and greater feasibility of domain functions. In addition to a web based management for domains, prices are lower than those of NetworkSolutions. One year domain registration or transfers run at $25.00 USD.

2. There are many reasons to get domain name. A few of
them are to be easier to find, and easier to remember for
your clients, having email at your domain name is also a big
request ie. sales@yourdomain.com or info@yourdomain.com. One
of the biggest advantages of having a domain name is that
it will become easier to get your website listed in the search
engines.
3. How do I find out if a domain name is taken? Use our domain

Cost: $25.00 a year (payable to InfoWest Inc.)
(InfoWest does charge an extra $29.95 a month for basic hosting
not required to register a domain, but required for your
website to be viewed on the internet)

Credit Card: InfoWest Domain Registration does not take any
form of payment for new domain registrations except for
Credit Cards.

If you use NetworkSolutions to register your domain please use the following
information.
Technical Contact - When you register your domain it
will ask for the NIC Handle for the technical contact please
put IDS2-ORG in that box.

InfoWest
does offer most of these basic web services for free, because
of this InfoWest cannot provide support beyond this webpage
without charging for consultation, each request is handled
case by case and a fee of $20.00 an hour will be billed to
your account if you need any further or specific programming
help.
