Setting Up Front Page Express

Publishing your Website with Front Page Express

(FrontPage Extensions are not supported on the InfoWest Servers due to security issues with them)

I wish there was more on this subject that I could offer as far as support goes. I really have to stress that the only reason I have done this much was because there are alot of users that chose to use this program instead of learning the proper standards to HTML and web publishing.

I personally used this program a whole of three days and I was lost beyond belief and had to constantly read the help section to learn how to do different things. I didn't think there should be that much of a problem for an experienced web user, but it does have its own style in how it does things and in how it writes its HTML.

Keep in mind that if you do write your webpage in Front Page and later would like to have a web company take over the design or do some updates most of it wont be possible due to inaccurate web standards on the part of Front Page.

1.
Open FrontPage Explorer.

2. Click File.

3. Click Open FrontPage Web. (See Figure 1)

4. Select your local Web.

5. Click OK in the Getting Started window. (See Figure 2)

6. Click the Publish button in the FrontPage Explorer window after the Web site opens. (See Figure 3)

7. Click More Webs in the publish window. (See Figure 4)

8. Type ftp.infowest.com/web into the combo box of the Publish FrontPage Web window.

9. Click OK. (See Figure 5)

10. Type in your admin user name and password, when the Name and Password window appears. After that FrontPage should begin publishing your site to InfoWest.

InfoWest does offer most of these basic web services for free, because of this InfoWest cannot provide support beyond this webpage without charging for consultation, each request is handled case by case and a fee of $20.00 an hour will be billed to your account if you need any further or specific programming help.
as always there are exceptions and if you feel you have a question that most people need help with please send it in here webhelp@infowest.com
